Dental Implants

Permanent Teeth Replacement

You have several options for replacing missing or failing teeth, including bridgework and partial dentures. Nothing, however, provides the same level of permanence and stability as dental implants if you are a good candidate. It’s the closest thing to a real tooth, and it’s meant to last a lifetime.

Titanium implants work best with living bone and tissue and can be implanted without risk of infection. They are surgically implanted beneath the gum line into the jawbone, with the sturdy metal post serving as a replacement for the tooth’s root. Implants can be used to replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, or to provide support for dentures.

How Teeth Replacement Works

First, we insert the titanium post during a surgical procedure using local anesthetic and, if necessary, sedation. Then we wait for your jaw to heal and the bone to fuse with the implant. After that, we fit the replacement tooth or crown, and there you have it – a new tooth that looks completely natural!

Most patients say the experience was surprisingly pleasant; in fact, many say they don’t know why they were so concerned in the first place.

Let’s Have a Conversation

If you’re thinking about getting a dental implant, one of our dentists will determine if you’re a good candidate. To put it simply, you must have enough bone density in your jaw to hold the post in place. (Bone loss can occur if a tooth has been missing for an extended period of time or as a result of aging.) If your bone density is insufficient, a bone graft is an option.

Before an implant can be placed, any gum disease or infection in your mouth must be treated.
