Spreading Healthy Smiles Through Children’s Dentistry

You are never too young to care for your teeth. As a result, it is our goal to teach proper care to every child who walks through our doors. Our specially designed children’s program empowers kids to take charge of their health.

Our team consists of preventative dental assistants, dental hygienists and assistants, expert Oakville children’s dentists, and a child life specialist. Each child’s program is tailored to their specific requirements. We consider their age and developmental abilities, and we work with children in a fun and engaging manner. Kids love the program and leave our office wanting to brush, floss, and rinse. Many parents report that their children also play “dentist” at home.

We provide three types of appointments for children:

Self-care (1 hour session, including a dental hygiene appointment) (1 hour session, including a dental hygiene appointment)

For children aged 2 to 6, we use puppets, models, cameras, microscopes, and revealing tablets to engage them in play. The goal is to make them feel at ease in the dental office while also encouraging them to take care of their teeth at home and make healthy choices. Our dentist concludes self-care sessions with a cleaning and a friendly check-up.

Preparation (half-hour session)

Kids get to “play dentist” and do dentistry on puppets under the supervision of our best kid’s dentist in Oakville, which allows them to become familiar with the tools and procedures that will be used in their appointment. It’s a great way for kids to practice coping skills and gain a sense of control.

Treatments (in half-hour sessions)

Specific dental treatments are chosen based on the child’s age, psychosocial needs, and coping abilities; our goal is to make the experience as easy and stress-free for the child as possible. We encourage parents to participate.
